Republic Cement receives Presidential Award at Malacañang Palace


VP for Manufacturing Lloyd Vicente and Iligan Plant Manager Darwin Magpily receive the PMIEA for Quarry Operations (Non-Metallic Category) on behalf of Republic Cement Iligan Plant

Republic Cement executives receive the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award at the Malacañang Palace last April 20, 2023. Present at the awarding was DENR Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga. Receiving the awards on behalf of Republic Cement were CEO Roman Menz, VP for Manufacturing Lloyd Vicente, VP for Strategy and Business Development Renier Dizon, Teresa Plant Manager Jimmy Torres, Batangas Plant Manager Erwin Cruz, and Iligan Plant Manager Darwin Magpily.

Republic Cement took home a total of seven awards, including the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Awards for Quarry Operations (Non-Metallic), the highest accolade in the industry, for its Batangas, Iligan, and Teresa Plants. The Platinum Achievement Award for Quarry Operations (Non-Metallic) was also awarded to Republic Cement Bulacan Plant. In addition, Republic Cement Batangas Plant was recognized as the Safest Mine for the Non-Metallic Category. For Best Mining Forest (Non-metallic), Republic’s Bulacan Plant won the top prize with its Iligan Plant winning second runner-up for the same category.
