Republic Cement’s Teresa plant site recently took home the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award – Platinum Achievement Award for Quarry Operations, at the 64th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) in Baguio City.
A highly distinguished award in its category, this honour is given to companies that have exhibited outstanding levels of dedication, initiative, and innovation in working towards environmental protection, safety and health management, and community development.
The conference held in Baguio City is the biggest gathering in the mining industry that promotes and honours companies that have furthered their efforts in occupational health and safety, sound environment management, and community partnerships with local and national stakeholders.
Apart from the Platinum Achievement Award for Quarry Operations, Republic Cement also took home the runner-up award for Safest Quarry Operation. Most recently, the local government of Teresa, Rizal endorsed the Republic Cement plant as a stop on the Ms. Earth 2017 tour. During said visit, Ms. Earth candidates pledged their support for Republic Cement’s safety and environmental advocacies.
