Green to Gold: Republic Cement Teresa Plant receives Environmental Awards



October 19, 2018, Manila. Republic Cement Teresa Plant received two awards from the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines Inc. – Region 4A Chapter, during a ceremony held at the PCAPI R4A’s 11th Biennial PCO General Assembly at the Bellevue Hotel Manila, Muntinlupa City.


Gyro Aguinaldo, the Plant’s Environment Manager, bested thirty (30) other pollution control officers, winning the Top Prize as the Best Pollution Control Officer.


Meanwhile, the Teresa Plant also won Second Prize for its Environment Success Story, the “Kill-a-Watt” initiative.


“Being shortlisted among outstanding PCOs for the whole Region IV-A is already heartwarming, but being chosen as the top PCO is very satisfying. I just want to demonstrate to the region our company’s commitment when it comes to environmental sustainability initiatives,” Aguinaldo shared.

Republic Cement’s Gyro Aguinaldo is recognized as Best Pollution Control Officer.

He also extends his heartfelt thanks to his Teresa Family, with special mention to Charlito A. Hayag, Rolando H. Ong, Rodel Santiago, Ronald de los Santos, and Atty. Angela Edralin.
