We are Investors in People
We at Republic have long recognized that our strength lies in our people. In 2005, we were among the first companies in the Philippines to be recognized by the Investors in People UK for our commitment to the health, safety, and productive development of our employees.
We continue to build on this investment by achieving Bronze status as Investors in People in 2015, strengthening even more our commitment to develop and partner with our people to ensure that they will be qualified to carry our values into the future and continue our traditions of excellence.
We work in a Robust Learning Environment
Here, everyone is a learner, a teacher, or a facilitator for a variety of topics. We treat every moment as a learning opportunity wherein the jobs our employees are hired to do today gives them boundless opportunities to share knowledge, learn from others and develop as professionals.
We believe in talent mobility and support career development. Our employees chart their career dreams and we partner with them to make their aspirations happen.
We build Leaders for the Future
In Republic, we believe in leadership at all levels and we support the development of our leaders in whatever level they may be in the organization through programs such as our supervisory and management development programs, both of which are anchored in our leadership competencies standards. Our goal is to give our employees relevant and timely programs that would help them achieve their business objectives.
We have a Republic Technical School in Teresa, Rizal that serves as a training center for cadet engineers and technical staff to learn the basics of cement processes and other related technical processes. Courses taken at the technical school lead to certification. Believing in the holistic training of our people, we also send our office-based employees to the school as part of our on-boarding program. Around 600 employees graduate every year, ensuring an adequate pool of competent manpower to meet the company’s operational needs.
Our long standing program for young engineers called Cadet Engineer Development Program (CEDP) is proven track for young engineer talents looking to start their careers in the building materials industry. The CEDP features a customized development track tailored to accelerate the development of young engineers to make them ready to take on leadership positions in our operating plants in as short as 1 year. Through constant development and openness in communication, we sow the seeds of leadership among our young engineers. We water them with real-life learning experiences and excellent mentorship opportunities, and we let them spearhead plant wide projects because we trust in their capabilities. We believe that before we could even begin building better, we need to build leaders who will carry our values and make our vision a reality.
