Having survived Typhoon Sendong, our Iligan Team knows very well the devastating impact of natural calamities on vulnerable communities. Thus, when the 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit Surigao last February 10, they immediately responded by collecting relief goods from the employees to bring to affected families.

A team of five volunteer employees gave up their vacation leave credits and traveled for 9 hours at their own cost, traversing a distance of 385 km to bring aid to over 90 families in several barangays in Surigao.

This volunteerism initiative kicked off the “50 Ways of Giving Back” program that our Iligan employees adopted as their way of giving thanks for the five decades that the plant has been part of their lives.
