Posted July 5, 2017
In the aftermath of the Marawi conflict, Martial Law was declared by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on the island of Mindanao last Tuesday, 23 May 2017. The emergency declaration is effective for a period of 60 days.
In response thereto, Republic Cement has been working to ensure the safety and security of its Iligan plant operations, while providing assistance to the community, especially with the mass entry of evacuees from Marawi City.
Joining forces with Aboitiz Group’s Pilmico, Republic Cement has turned over relief goods and care packages to Philippine Army Units in Iligan and rescued students from Mindanao State University (MSU) – Marawi City. These include:
 bottles of mineral water
 biscuits
 cup noodles
 cans of sardines
 sacks of rice
 toiletries
 bed foam
Republic Cement continues to seek ways to help in the form of supplies, as well as provision of volunteers for relief goods repacking.
