Confidence and a Cart: How a Food Cart is Nourishing Dreams in Bulacan

Mrs. Vivian Granatin is a picture of a warrior, struggling to make ends meet for her family. She would do everything for her kids were both enrolled to the feeding program of Republic Bulacan plant.

During the feeding program, Republic’s community relations team saw the need to empower the children’s parents so that kids initially enrolled in the program would no longer need to return. This meant that their earning capacity to be improved. A scouting and selection process was initiated by the community relations team and Mrs. Granatin was one of the three beneficiaries selected for the food cart program.

Republic provided a cart, cooking utensils , a gas stove, a wok frying pan and two thousand pesos as starting capital.

Today, Vivian continues to be a warrior. However this time she is armed with confidence and a cart, peddling savory delights to address the hunger pangs of members of the community, and smiling because she is now able to provide food on the table for her family .

-Mrs. Vivian Granatin
